Laboratoire d’Optique Appliquée (LOA) is hosting the LAPLACE project, starting in 2023. LAPLACE is the first French research center dedicated to particle acceleration by laser-plasma interaction. It combines research and innovation for the development of a new generation of accelerators providing intense and ultra-short sources of energetic electron beams or X-rays for academic and industrial applications. LAPLACE is organized around two platforms: a high-energy platform (LAPLACE-HE) for electron beams in the GeV range, and a high-repetition rate platform (LAPLACE-HC) aimed at producing secondary sources of particles and radiation at high repetition rates (100 Hz – kHz).
